Meet the Cai Be Princess sampan at the Hung Vuong Hotel jetty in Ben Tre at 10:00 am. Our crew is set to welcome you aboard with chilled towelettes and a refreshing drink as the Cai Be Princess sets off on a leisurely cruise on the Ben Tre River. From the boat’s unique vantage point, observe life as it is lived along the river – a fascinating procession of boats both big and small, fishermen casting their nets, and brilliant landscapes in every shade of green. Make brief shore excursions along the way for glimpses of local cottage industries including a brick factory, coconut workshop, and charcoal factory.
At the village of Nhon Thanh, step ashore and stroll to a small outdoor market. Stop at a home that makes straw mats, and put your craftsmanship to the test! Continue on a short cycling trip through picturesque villages and fruit orchards to an elegant country restaurant where lunch is served in a tropical garden setting by the river. After lunch, board a small rowing sampan and explore the peaceful, narrow canals lined by nipa palms. Then, return to the Cai Be Princess on a three-wheeled tuk-tuk to get back to Ben Tre.
