In the morning trip to Cu Chi tunnels – a popular spot for both Vietnamese & foreign tourists. The network of over 200km of tunnels became legendary when they played a vital role in the War. In their heyday, the tunnels were functioning underground cities included innumerable trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapon factories, field hospitals, command centers & kitchen. Plenty of evidence of the fierce battle that took place here during the 1960s when Cu Chi was a “Free Target Zone”.
In the afternoon visit the Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic Central Post Office, Reunification Palace. Followed by the remarkable site of the War Remnants Museum.
Break time for lunch at a local restaurant.
Today, visitor have a chance to know how the tunnel was constructed, spend the next hours exploring the tunnels and war remnants, where you’ll learn more about the conditions the people lived in, the hardships they faced, and the amazing ingenuity employed to maintain life in the tunnels, sample some of the simple cuisine that local fighters would have survived on, and have an opportunity to venture into the tunnels and explore the complex. Back to Saigon. End of the trip.
