Hai A Café
This place is a bit far from the City so that you can enjoy your quiet and peaceful time. A lot of young people choose Hai A Café as the secret destination for them to take a break from the busy life, to recharge their batteries and to press an “F5” button in life.
Hai A Café is located about 9km from the center. By taking a taxi or riding your motorbike, it will take you about 20 minutes to get there. Good thing that the owner can speak English. So, if you like a romantic, quiet and peaceful place, Hai A Café is definitely on your list.

Hai A Café
Quán Đương
This café is no doubt a hidden gem that you can hardly find it without getting lost or asking for help in the first time. Being located right in the middle of a hill and surrounded by an enormous pine forest, you cannot take a taxi here. The only way to get here is motorbike and walking. Contrary to the seal impression of French style here, Quán Đương imprints Vietnamese culture and traditions. Here they have homemade wine and beer with fruits, and it is depending on which season of the year. Last time when I visited Quán Đương, they were making persimmon wine since Da Lat was in persimmon season.
The first impression of this place is “Chill”
Being isolated from the busy life out there, people here are having their own lifestyle. You will unconsciously lower your voice, slower your step, and forget about your pressure in life.

Quán Đương
This place is mostly quiet and poetic. You can easily see some street artists here with their guitars making a new song, or just simply getting lost in their ways and enjoying the moment. Trust me, all of the hard times you had and the difficulties that you are facing will fade away once you take a seat and have a little taste here.

Lau Bo Ba Toa (Ba Toa Beef Hot Pot)
This is the must-go if you are a fan of beef. This is a very famous mom and pop business in Da Lat. I do recommend you stop by here during lunchtime because it is packed at night, and of course you have to wait for a long time to get a table. They have a special recipe so the broth tastes very flavorful. They also use fresh and clean vegetables from the gardens in Da Lat. This restaurant is located right at the Center of Da Lat, you can literally walk here if you are in the city.

Lẩu gà lá é Tao Ngộ (Tao Ngo Chicken and Herb Hotpot)
If you are wondering why I talk a lot about soups and hot foods, Da Lat has chilly and cool weather that’s why people here like to eat and drink hot so that it can keep them warm.
If you are not so into beef, I have another option for you which is Chicken and Herb Hot Pot – Lẩu gà lá é Tao Ngộ. This restaurant is located at no.5 3/4 street, ward 3, Da Lat city which is only 5 minutes from the center. Lá É is the name of the herb that looks like mint and basil. People say that this herb is very good for human health as it can help cure cough and cold.

The recipe is pretty simple with fresh free-range chicken, dry pancakes (optional), bamboo shoot, oyster mushroom, and of course Lá É. This food is also the specialty here that we can hardly find it anywhere else in Vietnam.
